Our electric conversion kit for D/LD Lambretta scooters includes a 4kW DC brushless electric motor, rear disc brake, sinusoidal motor controller, custom made swing arm and battery tray, twin rear shock absorbers, along with a key-less ignition, digital battery gauge, LED headlight conversion and all the necessary cables. The whole kit is powered by one removable LG lithium-ion battery.

We ship worldwide with full installation instructions on our YouTube channel that you or a local garage can follow.

Alternatively we can install the kit for you and also offer it as an engine option to customers who are looking to carry out a classic scooter restoration with us.

During the build process we strip out the old petrol engine, and install our kit as a direct replacement.

The D/LD models can carry 1 extra large battery and charging is done from our external charger using a standard household plug and socket. We recommend carrying your charger with you to allow you to charge your battery anywhere you can find a socket. Batteries are held via the internal battery tray, which sits in the centre of the machine, under the seat. This low down battery position along with improved suspension and rear disc brake result in vastly better handling than the original setup.

There were 600,000 D/LD models made between 1951-1958, the heyday of scooter production. Many more were manufactured in other countries around the world including Spain, France, India, Malaysia and some South American countries. These robust machines have survived the years well, mostly because of the quality of materials used and strong construction design. The total amount manufactured throughout the world is likely to be over a million.

There are 3 different styles of control boxes for our D/LD kit, which fits in the space of the old petrol tank. They are moulded from the original tanks and therefore fit neatly onto the original mounting brackets. They can also be painted to match the colour of the scooter, which is recommended for the open bodywork of the model D.

Version 1 fits Innocenti models: D 1951-1956 and Spanish model: B. Version 2 fits Innocenti models: LD Mk1-Mk2, Spanish model: A and all French LDs. Version 3 fits Innocenti models: LD Mk2 (1956 onwards) and LD Mk3.

All LDs made in South America were Mk1 and Mk2 and ran until 1962. They also had model Ds.

When placing an order please let us know which version you require.
